Nick Turpin is a British street and commercial photographer who focuses on still life and documentation. His first series, 'On the night bus' compiles pictures taken of night buses, and their silhouettes against the foggy glass. The pictures tell the story of working London; by using pastille colours, the pictures gain a sense of uniformity and colourfulness.

In this shoot, we went to Fortis Green Road on a hazy winter day to capture reflections and colour in a similar way to Turpin. One of the ways that I achieved this was by setting my DSLR to manual, and applying a slow shutter speed as well as a small aperture. WWW: Many of the pictures have a sense of uniformity within their dusty tones. This is positive because it reflects the bluriness that Turpin shows in his pictures when he uses the element of condensation. EBI: I think that the colours in this shoot could have been a lot stronger, as most of the tones are a cold bluish grey, a stark contrast to Turpin's vibrant yellows and reds. One way to improve this would be to edit the pictures for greater saturation on photoshop.

In order to capture the atmosphere of commuting London just as Turpin did, I cropped some of the images to focus on bus passengers in depth.
